After years of working in the construction industry Marc at ADTV Services has built a reputation for delivering Digital TV systems across a broad range of projects on time and on budget. You provide the plans and we do the rest. Right from planning and quoting to installation and commissioning, we pride ourselves on providing a first rate service and with Digital Switchover now up and running we know just how vital that is to the construction industry in general and electrical contractors in particular. Our public and employers liability far exceed the minimum standards required and for each and every job we do comprehensive method statements and risk assessments are produced. Communal Integrated Reception Systems (IRS)A Communal IRS is a digital TV installation for communal properties such as flats and commercial properties. It offers a complete choice solution, so that occupiers can not only access Digital TV services such as Freeview, Sky TV and BBC Freesat, but also FM and DAB digital radio stations. An IRS will ensure that your building is digitally compliant, with a digital TV installation that is ready for the Digital Switchover. Where the site is dispersed over several buildings, it is usually best for each building to have its own mini system. This streamlines the fitting process by avoiding the need to dig up gardens and roads to install underground cables, whilst still ensuring that the Digitial TV installation is set up for all of the occupants, an important requirement of the digital switchover. When there are several houses or flats within a single building, the building is supplied with a single head end array. Systems can be installed to service occupancies from as little as four, up to several hundred within a single block or indeed a string of blocks together, for example in a row of tenement buildings. System components are located so that they are easily accessible for future maintenance requirements, whilst we also take care to ensure they are secure from tampering or vandalism. What does a MATV system do?A modern MATV system can carry analogue and digital TV signals through an aerial, both free-to-view and subscription, FM radio and DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) but it cannot carry satellite signals. MATV Systems and the Digital TV SwitchoverSome MATV systems in use today are over 30-years old and many are unsuitable for carrying digital TV signals. These will need to be surveyed and likely to require replacement to cope with the digital TV switchover. How MATV Systems worksIn a typical MATV system the aerial is a conventional UHF TV aerial, receiving both analogue and digital TV signals. Signals received by the aerial are then processed. In MATV systems that have not been modified to carry digital, it is usually this processing that restricts or prevents the digital TV signals from being handled correctly. A distribution network then delivers all television signals to a socket outlet in each household. There can be more than one outlet per household, but only one TV set can be connected to each outlet. SMATV SystemsWhat is SMATV?SMAT (Satellite Master Antenna Television) is an enhanced version of the MATV system. It allows clients to combine the benefits of additional satellite programmes, with the terrestrial services that are normally available to MATV system viewers. SMATV systems are now employed in hotels, colleges and communal dwellings to provide end users with a broader range of programme facilities. How does it Work?We provide a satellite dish installation and TV aerial installation to receive programming from satellite providers and local broadcast networks. The TV aerial and Satellite Dish installation tune into the channels you choose for your cable line-up, and combine them into a single cable signal. If you have an existing MATV System, the changeover is often as simple as disconnecting the cable company feed and plugging in the new system. If there is not a cable plant in place, we can plan and install a cable network for you. Whatever system is right for you, Aberdeen Digital Services will ensure that it is installed to the very highest standards. We also offer a flexible supply and commission service - your electricians can first-fix the cable to the spec we supply - and we then connect and check the system. |
